Replace the remove.bg desktop app
The remove.bg desktop app runs on the remove.bg service, which closes on 1 December 2026. The lassocut batch tool does the same job from your browser: pick a folder of photos, choose the options, and get the cut-outs in a folder or a ZIP.
How it works
- Sign in with GitHub or Google. Every account gets 50 free previews per month; full-size images use credits.
- Choose your photos: a few files, or a whole folder. Tick Include subfolders to take the whole tree; the results keep the same folder structure.
- Pick the options: size (preview or full size up to 25 megapixels), transparent, white or any colour background, PNG, JPG or WebP.
- Choose where to save: straight into a folder on your computer (Chrome and Edge), or a ZIP to download (every browser).
- Run. If you stop and start again on the same output folder, photos already done are skipped.
On Chrome and Edge, Add to desktop puts it on your computer like an app, with its own window and icon.

Questions
Are my photos uploaded somewhere?
Each photo is sent to the lassocut API, processed in memory and discarded; the result comes straight back to your browser. Nothing is kept.
What does it cost?
A preview uses 0.25 credit and your free previews go first; a full-size image uses 1 credit. See pricing.
Is there a Mac or Windows app to install?
Not yet. The batch tool runs on Windows, macOS and Linux in any recent browser.
