Remove image backgrounds in Photoshop
The remove.bg Photoshop plugin calls the remove.bg API, which closes on 1 December 2026. The lassocut plugin does the same job in one click: the cut-out lands as a new layer, your original layers are only hidden.

How it works
- Install lassocut – Remove Background from Adobe Exchange (Photoshop 2022, version 23.3, or later) and open Plugins → lassocut.
- Paste your API key from your account once.
- Open a photo, choose Full resolution (1 credit, up to 25 megapixels) or Preview (free), and click Remove background.
The plugin works on the visible image of the active document. The result is a new top layer, Background removed, at the exact size of the document. The other layers are hidden, never deleted, and the whole operation is one history step: Ctrl+Z brings everything back.
Questions
Can I refine the edges?
Yes: the cut-out is an ordinary layer. Add a layer mask, or use Select and Mask on it, like on any other layer.
What does it cost?

Is it the remove.bg plugin?
