LassoCut integrations: plugins, no-code automation and AI assistants
Remove backgrounds where the image already is: a design file, a Media Library, an automated workflow or a chat with an AI assistant. Every integration calls the same API, with one account and one balance of credits.
Where LassoCut works today
| Tool | What it does | Status on 29 September 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Photoshop | Adds the cut-out of the active document as a new layer; your layers are only hidden | Submitted to Adobe Creative Cloud Exchange, pending review |
| Figma | Cuts out the selected images in place, in Figma, FigJam and Figma Slides | Submitted to Figma Community, pending review |
| WordPress | Media Library images, one by one or in bulk, and WooCommerce product photos | WordPress.org plugin directory |
| GIMP 3 | Filters › LassoCut adds the cut-out as a new layer | Download (.zip) |
| Zapier | A Remove Background step in any Zap | Beta, by invite link, while Zapier reviews the public app |
| Make | A LassoCut module in Make scenarios | Coming to the Make app directory; meanwhile use Make's HTTP module |
| n8n | A Remove Background node with size, subject type, format and background colour | Community node n8n-nodes-lassocut |
| AI assistants (MCP) | Background removal on request in Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and Windsurf | Claude Desktop extension, or npx -y lassocut-mcp |
| Command line and batch tool | Folders from a terminal or the browser | npm install -g lassocut-cli; the batch tool needs no install |
Most of them connect the same way: click Sign in with LassoCut, approve in your browser, and there is no key to copy. n8n and custom HTTP steps use an API key from your account.

How to use them
Plugins in design tools
In Photoshop and GIMP the result lands on a new layer above your original, so you can mask or retouch the edge without losing anything. In Figma it cuts out the images in the layers you select, without moving or resizing anything. See the designers use case.
No-code automation
A typical flow: a new photo in Google Drive or Dropbox, a LassoCut step, then the cut-out saved to another folder or sent to your shop. Zapier and n8n have a ready-made step; in Make, call the API from the HTTP module until the app is listed. The fields are the API's: size, type, format, bg_color.
AI assistants
The MCP connector gives the assistant three tools: remove_background (files, folders or URLs), get_credits and sign_in. Ask "remove the background of the photos in this folder" and it saves each result next to its original. In Claude Code:
claude mcp add lassocut -- npx -y lassocut-mcp
From the MCP guide; Claude Code, Cursor and Windsurf need Node.js 20 or later for npx. The Claude Desktop extension bundles its own.
Honest limits
- Store listings take time: the Photoshop and Figma plugins are waiting for Adobe's and Figma's review, Zapier is in beta by invite, and the Make app is not listed yet. The platforms page links to each listing as soon as it is live.
- Same limits as the API: JPG, PNG or WebP up to 22 MB, full size up to 25 MP, PNG output up to 10 MP; every integration sends the image to the LassoCut API over the internet.
- Same costs as the API: 0.25 credit per preview, 1 credit per full-size image, 50 free previews a month (up to 10 a day).
- AI assistants: up to 50 images per request. For more than 10 full-size images, the assistant shows the cost and waits for your OK, and existing files are never overwritten.
Try it on your own photo
Drop an image on the home page to see the cut-out, then create an account for 50 free previews a month (up to 10 a day).
